What is the Kennedy School of Hockey?

Kennedy school of hockey is an accelerated learning platform that strives to make you the best you can be.

This is accomplished by working hard and focusing on all aspects of hockey. Not just practice or games

but a full round table of exercise, nutrition, skills and attitude. Lets not forget hard work. This is key.

All things can be accomplished by adopting a strong work ethic. Hard work is the main ingredient

in building better hockey players.  At Kennedy school of hockey you will be expected to work hard

and have a positive attitude. Together with my family I plan to bring you to heights you never imagined.

Together we have thirty plus years of experience in hockey.

Sign up for our clinics and skills sessions and let me show you how the Kennedy Family does hockey.

Some nice words about us written by the Stamford Spinnakers:

"We met Paul Kennedy, Head Coach of Girls Hockey at Cushing Academy,

when he served as a Dynamic Skating instructor in our 2001 camp.  We met his son, Mike Kennedy,

who played for Lawrence University in Wisconsin, when he served as a Dynamic Skating instructor

in our 2003 camp.  We met Paul's daughter (Mike's sisters), Courtney,

when she joined her father and brother as an instructors for our 2004 camp.

We hope to meet her sister, Shannon, at our next camp.  Courtney and Shannon

played hockey together at prep school, Colby College and the University of Minnesota.

Shannon, who has taught power skating with Paul Vincent for ten years, is Head Coach of

Girls Hockey at Saint Louis Park High School in Minnesota.

Courtney, a member of the 2002 U.S. Women's Olympic Team and

Head Coach of Girls Hockey at Buckingham Browne and Nicholas School in

Cambridge, Massachusetts, has played for the Vancouver Griffins and holds

the all-time scoring record for a defenseman at University of Minnesota

."  The list goes on. If you would like to read more about the Kennedy family click here.

The battle of the sexes is about to his the ice this fall and winter at rinks throughout New England.

The brainchild of U.S. Olympian Courtney Kennedy and her father

Paul Kennedy, both from Woburn, Mass., and Interstate

Junior Hockey League commissioner Bob Rotondo, a team of USA women’s national team players

 – known as the East Coast Wizards – will square off in exhibition games against squads

 from the IJHL this season.

“These girls are at the stage of their life where they need to make it to the

next level, or get back to the Olympics,” said Paul Kennedy, a longtime coach

who currently mentors the girls team at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Mass.

“They need to make sure things move fast enough for them and playing the boys will do that.”

Starting in September the plan if for the Wizards to play about 20 to 30 games

(possibly three against each of the IJHL’s 10 teams) over the course of the winter

and they’ll use Harvard, Cushing and BB&N as their home rinks.

They’ll also travel to IJHL sites. In the past, women’s players of this caliber

would’ve had to go to Canada to play against worthy competition.

Currently scheduled to play for the Wizards with Kennedy, formerly of the University of

Minnesota, are former Harvard stars Jamie Hagerman (Wenham, Mass.)

and Angela Ruggiero; two-time Olympians and former Brown standouts Tara Mounsey

(Concord, N.H.) and Katie King (Salem, N.H.); ex-Boston College player

Genevieve Richardson (Monroe, Conn.); former Olympians

Andrea Kilbourne and Shelly Looney (Northeastern University);

goaltenders Chanda Gunn (Northeastern) and

 Erika Silva (Northeastern and Newport, R.I.);

and Meredith Roth (Providence College) and Gretchen Anderson (Natick, Mass.).
